Job Summary
- Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary Subject Matter Expert for all fiber splicing activities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain splicing standards, procedures, and quality guidelines.
- Create complete, accurate splicing packages for customers, including documentation, schematics, and supporting materials.
- Perform OTDR trace interpretation, analyze results, and compile clear reports for clients.
- Conduct quality control reviews of splicing work performed by internal teams and subcontractors.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to field personnel.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers to ensure alignment on splicing requirements.
- Travel to project sites as needed (less than 50%) for audits, QC, and field validation.
- Maintain organized digital records, documentation, and project files. What Will Catch Our Eye:
- Extensive hands-on fiber splicing experience (construction, restoration, FTTH, backbone, etc.).
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and analyze OTDR data and other fiber testing results.
- Proven experience creating splicing documentation, diagrams, or packages.
- High proficiency with PC usage, digital tools, and documentation platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and serve as the companyâs go-to expert.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (retired splicer, a lead splicer, or a current field technician looking to transition into a leadership and standards-focused role.
