Composite Blade Technician I

Job Summary
- Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, inspect, diagnose and document internal and external composite damage, then photograph and assemble documentation as required.
- Perform coating and structural repairs of internal and external composite structures, such as wind turbine blades and nacelles.
- Modify and repair fiberglass, carbon fiber, resin and other composite materials as needed.
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) as required to maintain safe working environment.
- Interpret engineering drawings and lamination schedules.
- On occasion, conduct maintenance of equipment (cleaning, greasing, lubrication, etc.).
- Complete and maintain required company and client documentation and records, using computer-based service reporting tools and procedures. Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs. Core Experience:
- Graduate from Accredited Trade School or relevant mechanical or electrical experience.
- Understanding of basic Composite Blade terminology.
- Basic tool usage and knowledge on the different repair methods and composite mixture ratios.
- Basic knowledge of blade sanding and scarfing.
- Work within confined space areas, such as inside a wind turbine blade.
- Follow specific verbal and written instructions to perform wind turbine generator (WTG) and associated equipment assembly, repair, and maintenance.
- Read and understand electrical schematic drawings. Physical/Work Environment At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.
- Ability and willingness to climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet.
