Essential Duties and Responsibilities

\u2022 Frontline project management for all construction activities associated with outside plant activity. \u2022 Engineering design for outside plant all projects locally \u2022 Engineering design and activity support for the ZFB Build projects \u2022 Proactive review of outside plant facilities to determine necessary upgrades and enhancements. \u2022 Communicate with state, county, city, and national indices to gain information on planned projects that involve growth and changes. \u2022 Coordinate with all utilities for project design and construction to utilize joint trench. \u2022 Communicate with all peers and departments to insure proper project planning. \u2022 Maintain accurate cable records and updates. \u2022 Attend pre construction meetings for project designs. \u2022 Apply for all permits as required (State, DNR, City, County, Townships). \u2022 Maintain and investigate ROW\u2019s and easements for releases. \u2022 Prepare cost estimates for BDT\u2019s. \u2022 Respond to DOR\u2019s as needed. \u2022 Update records according to As-Builts. \u2022 Support sales, marketing, operations and regulatory as needed. \u2022 Assist in annual budget design. \u2022 Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.

Required Qualifications

\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience required. \u2022 Minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in an outside plant position required. \u2022 Outside plant construction project management experience and inventory management experience. \u2022 Experience in ROW, private easement and permitting with local, state, and federal entities. \u2022 Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of outside plant design, cable count layout, and capacities. \u2022 Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License and satisfactory driving record. \u2022 Must complete a pre-employment drug screening.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities \u2022 Knowledge of outside plant activity and engineering tools to include Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, etc. \u2022 Organizational skills, communication skills (written and verbal) and customer relations will be utilized in achieving desired results. \u2022 Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with Engineering team, regional managers, vendors, local supervisors, and technicians. \u2022 Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of activity and meet critical deadlines. \u2022 Ability to drive on behalf of the company in a safe and responsible manner.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This role requires driving and requires the ability to perform all functions of operating a motor vehicle regularly and safely.

Work Environment and Additional Information Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a modern office setting. At all times, Ziply Fiber must be your primary employer.
