DC Power Technician (Headend Environment)

Job Summary

We are seeking a DC Power Technician to support installation, maintenance, and upgrades of -48V DC power systems within a telecommunications/headend environment. This role involves working on live power systems and ensuring reliable uptime for critical infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Install and upgrade DC power systems, including rectifiers, battery plants, and cabling
• Perform live power work (hot work) and circuit transitions safely
• Install and maintain cable racks, raceways, and power infrastructure
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair DC systems and battery equipment
• Read blueprints, follow MOPs, and complete required documentation

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with DC power systems, battery plants, or UPS systems
• Strong understanding of DC power theory and troubleshooting
• Experience working on energized equipment preferred
• Knowledge of safety practices (PPE, lockout/tagout)
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces
• Reliable transportation and basic hand tools preferred
• Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience is a plus
