Senior Telecom Engineering Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of telecom engineers, designers, and planners
  • Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and technical excellence
  • Oversee engineering deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, and on-time execution
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with construction, project management, and operations teams
  • Develop and implement engineering standards, workflows, and scalable processes
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks to improve team productivity and output
  • Champion automation, tools, and best practices to enhance efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (TIA, RUS) and regulations (NEC, OSHA, FCC, ROW requirements)
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance and review processes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions when needed
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategy, forecasting, and resource planning
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive practices Experience &

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 7+ years of telecom engineering experience
  • 4+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Strong background in OSP engineering, fiber networks, and infrastructure deployment
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams
  • Experience developing processes and driving continuous improvement
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment Experience leading engineering teams through large-scale fiber deployments. Strong background in process optimization and workflow standardization. Proven success improving team efficiency through automation or digital tools. Deep understanding of ROW permitting across multiple states/jurisdictions. Ability to align engineering execution with strategic growth initiatives. Hands-on leadership style with a track record of developing talent.

  • OSP Engineering & Fiber Network Design
  • ROW & Railroad Permitting / Multi-Jurisdictional Coordination
  • Pole Applications & Make-Ready (PLA) oversight
  • AutoCAD (proficient)
  • ArcGIS (intermediate+)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning
  • Knowledge of construction methods (aerial, underground, HDD, trenching)
  • Quality assurance and compliance management
