Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Engineer)

$35 – $55 hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install electrical equipment such as small rack-mounted UPS equipment, various-sized batteries, and UPS/Battery monitoring equipment.
  • Maintain Battery Cabinets and racks, Maintenance Bypass, Battery Monitoring Equipment, DC Systems, and other electrical equipment.
  • Periodic and lifecycle-driven performance of remedial services, including failure analysis and troubleshooting, component replacements and repairs, and battery string replacements and installations.
  • Customer relationship building – Provide excellent customer service and upsell products.
  • Field troubleshooting calls from customers to a satisfactory resolution.
  • Quickly respond to critical situations.
  • Teach and mentor crew members on proper techniques for site work, troubleshooting, repair, and analyzing site data.
  • Isolate basic hardware, software, and interface malfunctions utilizing various test equipment on multiple products and technologies.
  • Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs. Core Experience ATTN: Only applicants with the following experience will be considered. Please ensure your resume clearly details your UPS work experience before applying.
  • Minimum of three (3) years serving in a third-party critical power field service or technical support role with a demonstrated progression in technical proficiency and capability -OR-
  • Minimum of five (5) years serving in an OEM service environment in the critical power space
  • Prior military training in electronics or avionics (A School, AIT, etc.) preferred
  • Good understanding of AC/DC electrical principles.
  • Knowledge of test equipment operation, such as multi-meters, and battery test equipment
  • Read and interpret electronics schematics with the ability to troubleshoot failures/faults to the component level.
  • Understand and have experience enforcing compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards.
  • Outstanding work ethic, punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability – you will set the pace as a senior UPS/ Critical Power Engineer.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions within fast-paced changing priorities. Physical/
